About the job:

· Design resilient, scalable database system architectures that facilitate company project goals and deliverables

· Devise strategies for performance monitoring, query workload refinement, server optimizations, and configuration management

· Administer best-practices for database security controls and data governance

· Conduct regular backup, recovery, and disaster recovery tests

· Provide guidance and best practice recommendations to other members of the team

· Develop or extend existing frameworks to automate processes

· Design, coordinate, and execute data migrations between systems

Requirements for consideration:

· Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience; Certifications preferred

· At least 3 years of database administration experience working with Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL

· Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environments

· Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef

· Strong analytical skills for problem resolution and extensive knowledge of database performance tuning, clustering, replication, backups, and log shipping

· Possess excellent communication skills and maintain strong team relationships

· Willing to work in a 24x7 environment (on call rotation)

· Additional preferred database experience: MongoDB (or any NoSQL), Redis, Elasticsearch, as well as AWS Dynamo, RDS, Aurora, etc

· Additional desired skills: Python, Powershell, SQL Server Data Tools, Liquibase
